This natural cleanser is made with a combination of 4 coconut and glucose based cleansers, which makes it more gentle than using just 1. We steer clear of harsh, petroleum-based ingredients like SLS that may foam well but can be very irritating and drying to the skin. Gentle enough to be used every day, morning and night, for all skin types. Due to its creamy texture, it doubles as a light shaving cream, for men and women.</p>

What type of skin is the Creamy Hydrating Face Cleanser best for?

This cleanser is made for absolutely anyone and everyone but it’s especially effective for those with drier skin types. We don’t believe in blasting skin with harsh detergents to keep skin clean because an overbearing cleanser can exacerbate dryness, and cause itchiness, tightness and irritation. The sebum in our skin (natural oils that it makes) helps keep it moisturised, but if it's constantly washed away, your skin could kick into oil-making overdrive which can lead to unwanted breakouts. We skip on harsh ingredients like SLS that foam up well but are also found in things like floor cleaning products – our face says no thanks! This creamy cleanser is designed to be used every day, morning, and night, to dissolve deep down dirt, while also leaving the skin feeling soft, silky and s-MOO-th. This one can also be used alongside an oil-based cleanser for a deeper double cleanse.

Why don't we make different cleansers for different skin types?

We often get asked why we don’t make different cleanser specific to different skin types such as dry, oily, normal or combination skin. While we believe that people have different skin types and different skin needs, if you look closely at ingredient labels, you’ll notice that there often isn't much difference between products specifically made for each variation. In our opinion, we don’t think all the different types of cleansers are needed if you have a good formula (we think ours are pretty darn good). A cleanser made for oily skin would have a higher concentration of cleansers than one made for dry skin, but you can achieve much the same result by varying the amount of cleanser you use or washing your skin twice, if needed.

What other products do you recommend to address dryness?

While our products work well on their own, we think they work best together. Teamwork makes the dream work! To target dryness most effectively, we recommend using this cleanser prior to applying a hydrating serum like our Hyaluronic Acid (2%), Niacinamide (10%) Active Serum and/or face oil like our Rosa Canina (Rosehip) Fruit Oil, followed by a nice and nourishing moisturiser like our Hydrating Renewal Cream or SPF 15 Moisturising Day Cream if you’re needing sun protection too. Approaching your skin concern at every step in your routine will allow the products you use to work together synergistically to best achieve your skincare goals.

I see fragrance in the ingredients list, what is the fragrance exactly?

The main concern with most fragrances is that they’re often made with phthalates. Of course, we don’t use these in our formulas because they’re well-known to be irritating to the skin, often causing dryness and itching. Instead, we use a blend of non-irritating, hypoallergenic fragrances that are suitable for even the most sensitive skin. Each part of this fragrance blend is below the EU’s allergy threshold, and we have used it in many of our products for years now without any reactions. The fragrances we use are proprietary blends from a company we work with, so unfortunately, we cannot reveal their exact details. Think of it as our top secret, reaction-free recipe!

Are your cleansers made of milk?

We aren’t called MooGoo because our moisturisers are made of milk. If you think about it, putting any meaningful amount of fresh milk into a cream and putting it on a shelf in a store for a while would not end well – yuck!

Are your cleansers safe for lash extensions?

Oils can break down the glue used for lash extensions, so we suggest you steer clear of using the Nourishing Deep Pore Oil Cleanser when wearing them. Our other cleansing products are perfectly suitable to use on the eye area while you’ve got lashes on.
