Looking for a Fluoride-free toothpaste that actually works? You’ve found it.
We created Moothpaste for families who wanted an alternative to Fluoride but didn’t want to compromise on results. It took years to perfect and was developed alongside dental professionals and real customers who were searching for a way to support strong, healthy teeth without Fluoride.
Instead of Fluoride, we use 10% Hydroxyapatite to remineralise teeth, strengthen enamel and reduce sensitivity. They help fill in tiny surface cracks and scratches, making it harder for bacteria to settle in and kick-start decay.
So what is Hydroxyapatite? It’s the very same mineral that makes up your tooth enamel. Together, they make Moothpaste a brilliant option for sensitive teeth, growing smiles or anyone choosing a cleaner routine.
We’ve also included Xylitol to help prevent plaque and bacteria from sticking to teeth, plus Stevia Leaf Extract for a gentle sweetness without added sugar. The result is a light, refreshing peppermint toothpaste that feels clean, tastes great and gives you confidence every time you brush.
Squeeze Moothpaste onto your toothbrush, or just a tiny smear for kids under 6. Hold your brush at a 45° angle toward your gums and brush gently in small circles to clean teeth and gums without scrubbing too hard. Spend about two minutes brushing.
After brushing, spit out the toothpaste but don’t rinse right away, so the minerals can keep working to strengthen and protect your teeth. Wait 20-30 minutes before eating or drinking for the best results. Brush twice daily and replace your toothbrush every three months or when the bristles start to fray.
As with all natural products, patch test for allergies before use. Store below 30˚C.
Sorbitol (Thickens and Sweetens), Calcium Carbonate, Tapioca Starch, Aqua (H₂O’s Fancy Name), Sodium Bicarbonate (Low Abrasive Bicarb), Hydroxyapatite (Remineralisation Agent), Xylitol (Natural Sweetener), Decyl Glucoside (Glucose Based Cleanser), Flavour - Natural Peppermint, Xanthan Gum (Food Grade Thickener), Stevia Rebaudiana Leaf Extract (Natural Sweetener), Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate (Coconut & Taurine Derived Cleanser). Even when we spit out toothpaste, we ingest some and our mouths also absorb contents into the blood-stream. Not to mention how much toothpaste children swallow. For this reason we choose ingredients that are healthy while being the very best at keeping our teeth healthy and strong. We show all of the ingredients we use in our products on our website, not just the pretty ones. That way you know exactly what's in each one, and can get in touch if you have any more questions.
Can Moothpaste help with sensitive teeth?
Yes. Calcium Hydroxyapatite helps strengthen and remineralise enamel, which can reduce tooth sensitivity over time.
What is Hydroxyapatite, and why do you use it?
Hydroxyapatite is the main mineral that makes up your tooth enamel. In other words, it’s not foreign to your body, it’s already part of your teeth.
We use both as Fluoride alternatives because they helps remineralise enamel, strengthen teeth and reduce sensitivity. There’s growing research supporting their role in cavity prevention and enamel repair, which is why we felt confident including it in our formula.
For customers looking for a Fluoride-free option that still supports strong teeth, these ingredients are the real hero.
What ingredients do you avoid in your toothpaste?
We leave out a long list of ingredients that are commonly found in conventional toothpastes. That's because these ingredients, even in small amounts, can be irritating for most mouths – especially if you're prone to ulcers or sensitivity. So, we choose gentler alternatives instead.
As with all our products, we formulate with family and friends in mind. If we wouldn’t use it ourselves, we don’t use it in our toothpaste. Below is a list of ingredients that you won't find in our Moothpaste range:
Why doesn’t your toothpaste foam as much as others?
Foam usually comes from SLS. Since we don’t use it, you’ll notice less lather.
Natural cleansers don’t create big, long lasting foam the way synthetic detergents do. But foam does not equal clean. It’s your brushing technique and the ingredients doing the hard work.
Most customers adjust quickly and find their mouth still feels fresh and clean, just without the bubble bath effect.
Is your toothpaste as effective as Fluoride toothpaste?
Things have come a long way since the days of Fluoride! For those choosing to avoid Fluoride, Calcium Hydroxyapatite offer a science-backed alternative to support enamel strength and cavity prevention. Hydroxyapatite has been proven to be just as effective as Fluoride too.
However, everyone’s oral health needs are different. If you’re at high risk of cavities or have specific dental concerns, we always recommend speaking with your dentist about what’s best for you.
Why doesn’t it taste as strong or minty as other brands?
Many conventional toothpastes use intense artificial mint flavours that create that powerful minty blast.
We use natural Peppermint Oil instead, which gives a fresh, clean flavour without being overpowering. It’s a little gentler, which many adults and kids prefer, especially if they find strong mint uncomfortable.
Is your Hydroxyapatite vegan and non GMO?
Yes! All of our Moothpaste formulas are vegan friendly and made without genetically modified ingredients.
Is Moothpaste safe for children?
Of course, the whole family can use it!
Because it’s Fluoride free and made with gentle ingredients, many parents choose it for their children. As with any toothpaste, we recommend supervising brushing and using only a small pea sized amount.
Is it safe if swallowed?
While toothpaste isn’t meant to be eaten, our formula is made with gentle, edible ingredients. Accidental small amounts during brushing are not a concern. That said, we still recommend encouraging children to spit where possible.
Can Moothpaste be used on dentures?
Yes, it’s gentle enough to clean dentures thanks to its mild cleansers and low abrasive ingredients.
However, because it contains mild abrasives like Calcium Carbonate and Sodium Bicarb, it may cause fine scratches on softer denture materials over long term use. If you have delicate dentures, a denture specific toothpaste with RDA testing may be more suitable. When in doubt, check with your dental professional.
Your toothpaste is non-nano, but the research says only nano is effective. I’m wondering why MooGoo would go against the evidence – do you have an alternative study you’ve based your formulation on?
Research does show that Nano-Hydroxyapatite can offer benefits for sensitivity support, as its smaller particle size can more easily penetrate and deposit in exposed dentine tubules.
For our Original Peppermint Moothpaste formula, we intentionally chose non-nano Hydroxyapatite because many of our customers specifically prefer it and feel more comfortable using it. Non-nano Hydroxyapatite still helps support enamel and provides remineralisation benefits at the tooth surface.
Its smaller particle size helps target exposed tubules more effectively, which can assist with sensitivity triggered by hot, cold, sweet or acidic foods and drinks. Rather than going against the evidence, we’re offering options that reflect both the research and our customers’ preferences and needs.
Why do you use Sorbitol in your Moothpaste?
Sorbitol is a naturally occurring sugar alcohol found in many fruits and vegetables. Some people associate it with digestive discomfort when consumed in large amounts as a food additive because it isn't fully absorbed during digestion. However, the amount used in toothpaste is very small.
For perspective, a pear or plum naturally contains around 4 grams of Sorbitol, while an apple contains about 2.5 grams. A standard serving of our Moothpaste (approximately 0.25 g) contains only around 1/25th of the Sorbitol found in a single apple, and that's only if the entire amount is swallowed.
We use Sorbitol because it plays several important roles in the formula:
In short, Sorbitol isn't just there for sweetness. It helps make the toothpaste effective, pleasant to use and stable over time.
We're always open to feedback and exploring suitable alternatives where possible. However, any replacement ingredient needs to perform the same important functions. After all, toothpaste needs to stay a toothpaste and not turn into a rock! Everyone has different ingredient preferences and we do our best to balance those with safety, functionality and effectiveness.
Why does the tube of Moothpaste look like it’s not full?
Our Moothpaste formulas naturally thicken over time due to its formula, which means it can take up less space in the tube after filling and opening for the first time. This can sometimes make it look like there is “air” in the tube, even though each one is filled individually and accurately by weight.
If we filled the tubes completely to the top, the natural thickening of the formula would cause pressure build-up and potentially make the tubes burst. For that reason, there needs to be a bit of extra space as we would hate for our customers to experience Moothpaste all over their bathroom ceiling!
