I'm Vegan - Can I Use MooGoo?

Answer: Yes… mostly!*

We get this question all the time. And honestly, we get why.

With a name like MooGoo, it’s easy to assume we’re out here pouring milk straight into moisturisers. Cute visual, but not quite how it works. We're quite proud of our story, we love cows and we're not shy about using a few cheeky cow puns!

 

So, why the name MooGoo?

Our very first cream was inspired by a balm used on dairy farms to keep cow udders soft and healthy. Our founder originally made it for his mum, who suffered from Psoriasis and sensitive skin. She shared it, her friends loved it and before we knew it, we needed a name. MooGoo was one of the first names we came up with and well, it just… stuck.

 

But is there actually milk in the products?

Short answer: not usually.

Most of our range is Vegan-friendly, but not all. That’s where the asterisk comes in.

Some products contain:

  • Hydrolyzed Milk Protein (in a few creams)
  • Honey
  • Beeswax (in Lip Balms and SPF)
  • Whole milk (in some Cleansing Bars)

So while a big chunk of our range is suitable for Vegans, a few products aren’t. We always list ingredients clearly, and we’ve made it easy to shop our Vegan-friendly options.

 

Why use non-Vegan ingredients at all?

Fair question!

Our focus has always been on making products that are gentle, effective and suitable for sensitive skin. Sometimes, certain ingredients just do the job really well.

For example:

  • Honey is naturally antibacterial and great for supporting skin repair
  • Milk Protein has been shown to help improve skin elasticity
  • Beeswax locks in moisture, softens skin and protects the skin barrier

That said, we know people choose Vegan products for all sorts of reasons. So as we grow, we’re continuing to expand our Vegan-friendly options too.

 

Good news: we’re always cruelty-free

All MooGoo products are 100% cruelty-free. We never test on animals and that’s non-negotiable for us.
