Baby Soothing Moisturiser Nut Oil Free 120g

We made this cream with delicate baby skin in mind. We know how frustrating it can be for those with children with fussy skin that reacts to just about anything and everything. For those also concerned with nut allergies, we use Evening Primrose Oil to help hydrate and soothe troubled skin, and for peace of mind. It’s high in the types of fatty acids that healthy skin needs and irritated skin loves.

Then we added in as much MSM as we could possibly fit in, and removed the Milk Protein. Just mention MSM to a Naturopath and watch them go nuts about its wondrous soothing properties. This moisturiser is also fully loaded with a ton of other stand-up skin healing ingredients to soothe troubled skin. Suitable for everyone and all skin types, including newborns. Rub it on whenever you like, including the face. We treat all skin equally, with love.

Aqua (H₂O’s Fancy Name), Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Dimethyl Sulfone (MSM Organic Sulphur), Cetearyl Alcohol (Plant-Based Emulsifying Wax) and Polysorbate 60 (Food Grade Emulsifier), Glyceryl Stearate (Food Grade Emulsifier), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (Aloe Vera), Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil, Squalane (Olive), Piroctone Olamine (Olamine Salt), Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride (Guar Gum), Mel (Honey), Allantoin, Acetum (Apple Cider Vinegar), Pyrus Communis (Pear) Extract, Tocopherol (Natural Vitamin E), Humulus Lupulus (Hops) Extract. PLEASE NOTE: All natural products should be patch tested on a small area of the skin to check for allergies before use. This is even more important for those with known allergies. Because we make our products for our families, we have a strict ingredient philosophy that excludes ingredients like Parabens, Phenoxyethanol and penetration enhancers. We show all of the ingredients we use in our products on our website, not just the pretty ones. That way you know exactly what's in each one, and can get in touch if you have any more questions.

What ingredients do you avoid when making a moisturiser?

There's lots of things you won't find in this cream (or any of our other products) because they were all formulated for family members and close friends. This includes Paraffin and Mineral Oil which derive from petroleum, but are commonly found in commercial moisturisers like Sorbolene. We don’t think putting the stuff that goes into our cars on our skin is the healthiest thing we can do.

We also don’t use any synthetic preservatives such as Parabens and Phenoxyethanol, although they're pretty common too, including with a few brands that claim to be natural (you know who you are!). We avoid a lot of other things too, way too many to list here. We also don't use any useless, trendy ingredients like stem cells from Swiss apples or super power jellyfish DNA, just natural, effective ingredients for healthy skin.

Can I use this moisturiser when my skin flares up? Or do you recommend something else?

This moisturiser can be used any time, when your skin is behaving and also when it’s having a breakdown. When times are tough, we recommend using this in conjunction with our Irritable Skin Balmto soothe and moisturise the skin. Apply the Irritable Skin Balmfirst to the affect areas and allow it to soak in for 2 minutes. Then apply the SoothingMoisturiser Nut Oil Free over top and anywhere else you like.

My child has a nut allergy. Do I need to use nut-free skincare products?

Most allergies to nuts are triggered by nut proteins, not nut oils. But when it comes to allergic reactions many people choose to be extra cautious and avoid anything made with nut oils as well. For that reason, we made this cream to give parents of children with allergies peace of mind.

What does "Dermatologically Tested" mean?

You may have seen the term “Dermatologically Tested” on lots of products before, but did you know there’s not an actual definition or regulation for this term? Because that didn’t sit right with us, and because our aim is to make products for people with really sensitive skin, we decided to send a bunch of them off to be tested in an independent lab on 54 people who reported having sensitive skin. The results were given on a scale of 0 to 5 with 0 being no irritation or redness and 5 being a reaction. We’re happy to report that other than one person who had a reaction to the adhesive on the patch and another who found the patches painful to remove, all subjects reported 0 for redness and irritation for all the products we sent for testing.
