Product Description

Ban the Bleach!
Almost all Acne Creams use Benzoyl Peroxide Bleach. This is why hair will bleach to an orange colour when in contact with most Acne creams. Bleaches are cheap but not the first choice in keeping skin looking young and healthy. Acne is usually around for a short time, but the skin on our face is forever. So we need to take care of it.

Acne has a number of causes, including sebum (skin's oil) becoming rancid as well as bacteria on the skin. This is why an effective cleansing cream, that targets both contributors to Acne using natural ingredients is so much better than bleach in our opinion. That is why we set to work trying to find a solution that was good for the skin.

MooGoo's Blemish Cleansing Moisturiser takes a new approach. It is a cleansing cream that also works as a leave on moisturiser.  This keeps skin healthy and young looking by using a high quality natural cream packed full of anti-oxidants, rather than chemicals. Other parts of the formulation help prevent excess oils on the skin becoming rancid which can be a cause of Acne as well as cleanse the skin of bacteria.

We suggest applying theBlemish Cleansing Moisturiser each morning and night after washing and while the skin is still slightly moist. Everyone’s skin is different, but of our customer Guinea Pig testers, 13 out of 15 reported real results after around a week. The cream is not designed for instant results on existing acne as bleach can do, but to help prevent the need for bleaching products after a week.

It may cost a few dollars more than a bleach based cream, but healthy skin is priceless.

This is a radically different way of helping acne prone skin without causing damage. If you would like to see if this product may suit you, please visit our facebook site here. which has the comments from our acne prone volunteers who tested the cream for us when we first formulated it. We hope it will help you decide if it is for you.

Enjoy.

Ingredient Description
Aqua (H2O's Fancy Name) When we were told that we have to call our purified water “Aqua” we thought they were kidding, but we can’t fight bureaucracy. We aren’t trying to be fancy, but we do need to call our water “Aqua” sometimes. If we used only oils and actives, the cream would feel hot on the skin as the oils coat the skin and it becomes an occlusive. By making this cream with water, the cream penetrates the skin better which is more moisturising, soothing and cooling
Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (Aloe Vera) Aloe Vera is a flowering succulent plant that stores water in enlarged fleshy leaves, stem, or roots. The leaf juice contains many minerals vital to the growth process and healthy function of all the body’s systems, and particularly known for its calming and soothing benefits (including skin and oral health!).
Cetearyl Alcohol (Plant Based Emulsifying Wax) Cetearyl alcohol is a Plant-Based Emulsifying Wax emulsified, stabilised and produced from the reduction of plant oils and natural waxes. It’s used for combining oil and water.
Squalane (Olive) Olive squalane is produced from olives. Squalane enhances skin elasticity and moisture retention. It is also a unique antioxidant that protects our skin from free-radical damages. Olive squalane's composition is very similar to human sebum (oil) and can penetrate our skin very quickly to help our skin to fight dryness. Squalane is not to be confused with squalene, which is a form of shark liver oil and tends to quickly oxidize when exposed to the air.
Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil Olive oil is derived from the ripe olive fruit. It’s packed with antioxidants and has a balanced fatty acid composition which restores moisture and nourishment to compromised skin. Olive oil is a great addition to natural skin care.
Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Seed Oil Apricot Seed Oil is a finely textured oil, easily absorbed by the skin without leaving it feeling oily or greasy. It is particularly helpful for dehydrated, delicate, mature and sensitive skin and helps to soothe inflammation. Apricot Seed Oil is rich in oleic and linoleic essential fatty acids.
Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil Grape Seed Oil is a lightly textured oil, excellent for moisturising the skin. It is very high in antioxidants and contains high amounts of vitamin E, vitamin C, Beta-Carotene, and vitamin D.
Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil Jojoba Oil is extracted from the Jojoba seed. It is extremely moisturising, light and sinks into the skin easily. Jojoba Oil is actually a liquid wax, whilst still being very non comedogenic (it does not clog the pores). When used in hair care, it helps keep the hair shaft smooth and soft. Most hair conditioners use silicone to coat the hair (cyclomethicone or dimethicone), however Jojoba Oil is much more natural and moisturising and doesn’t cause so much build-up.
Glycerin (Sugar Alcohol) Glycerin is used as a humecant (attracts water) in many moisturisers. We generally do not use Glycerin, but needed to in a few of our products due to the other ingredients (e.g. Zinc, which can also abosrb water). When making soap via “Cold Process” which is how we do it, natural glycerine is one of the by-products. It is also helpful to soften the skin.
Camellia Sinensis (ECGC Green Tea) Leaf Extract Camellia Sinensis is a herbal derivative of green tea leaves. It has antioxidant benefit that can help delay signs of skin aging, sun damage, age spots, fine lines and wrinkles. Green tea is well known for its strong antioxidant and calming actives.
Dimethyl Sulfone (MSM Organic Sulphur) MSM is Organic Sulphur compound which is present in every cell of the body. MSM has been proven to be a great skin softener and soothing compound for irritated skin. Often used in many cosmetic applications to slow down skin ageing. It is non-toxic and promotes healthy skin for all types.
Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil Sunflower Oil is rich in vitamins A, D, and especially vitamin E - as well as essential fatty acids. Sunflower oil has a light texture making it very comfortable on the skin.
Polysorbate 60 (Food Grade Emulsifier) A lot of our customers are small. So small in fact that they have sometimes mistaken the creams their mum or dad’s put on the nappy change table for food. Polysorbates are used in a lot of foods like Mayonnaise, Ice-cream etc to hold the cream and water together. We use them to help with the same thing.
Caprylic Capric Triglyceride (Fractioned Coconut Oil) Fractionated Coconute Oil is a blend of coconut oil and glycerine. It's considered an excellent emollient and skin replenishing ingredient as well as being a great natural stabiliser.
Hydrolysed Milk Protein (For Skin Elasticity) Hydrolysed Milk Protein is one of the most nutrient rich proteins due to its complete amino acid content. Studies have found that milk protein in a cream increased skin elasticity by around 20% compared to the same cream without. Skin elasticity ensures lines and wrinkles are minimised after any movement of the skin. For people with Lactose intolerance this is no problem, however for people that are allergic to Milk Protein itself, this ingredient would not be suitable.
Allantoin (Comfrey Root Extract) Comfrey Root has long been associated with soft, healthy skin. Allantoin is a skin conditioner that has been purified from comfrey. A soothing and non-irritating ingredient, it helps to maintain healthy skin by encouraging the removal of dead skin and enhance the growth of healthy skin. It is also promoted for preventing fine lines and wrinkles by assisting in skin repair.
Whey Protein Whey Protein is a mixture of proteins isolated from whey. We use an ingredient that combines some fatty acids with a type of whey protein which acts to control various flora on the skin. This is a natural and health way of helping acne prone skin.
Piroctone Olamine (Olamine Salt) Piroctone Olamine is an organic compound. It is a non-irritating ingredient which helps keep the cream free from bacteria and microorganisms.
Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate (Oil-Soluble Vitamin C) Ascorbyl Tetraisopalmitate is an oil-soluble derivative of Vitamin C. It’s a powerful antioxidant that slows the rate of free-radical damage (free radicals are unstable molecules that damage collagen and cause skin dryness, fine lines and wrinkles.) Studies have shown Vitamin C to stimulate collagen production as well as tone and brighten the skin by inhibiting melanogenesis (the production of pigment) thereby promoting a more even skin tone. This form of Vitamin C is absorbed by the skin very easily and is well tolerated by even the most sensitive skin types.
Panthenol (Vitamin B5) Panthenol is a form of Vitamin B5 derived from plants. It works as a humectant by attracting water into the skin cells, retaining moisture deep within the skins tissues and helping to restore the skins moisturising properties.
Polygonum Cuspidatum (Japanese Knotweed – Resveratrol) Japanese Knotweed is an excellent source of Resveratrol. Resveratrol is an effective anti-oxidant which may be an important additive to skin products to reduce the risks of skin cancer, and help prevent the skins natural sebum from oxidising.
Glyceryl Caprylate (Emollient) Glyceryl Caprylate is an emollient, which has an excellent efficacy against bacteria and as such makes a great natural preservative for skin care.
Vanilla Plantifolia (Vanilla) Fruit Extract Vanilla extract is used primarily as a sweet fragrance. Vanilla has some antioxidant, inflammation soothing, and skin firming properties. We use hops to preserve our cream and Vanilla combines well with the hops and other fruit extracts to keep our cream smelling nice.
Pyrus Malus (Apple) Extract Pyrus Malus (Apple) Extract contains a high level of Vitamin C, and a wide array of beneficial trace minerals. It also does smell amazing, so we put in some of our creams as it combines well with the Hops Extract (our natural preservative).
Tocopherol (Natural Vitamin E) Natural Vitamin E can be sourced from a variety of plants and seeds, as they are common natural compounds. It has up to twice the bioavailability of synthetic forms. Vitamin E has antioxidant action as well as free radical scavenger properties, and in-depth studies from diversified medical fields have shown that this can slow the aging process. We use the more expensive, natural Vitamin E in our creams, not synthetic.
Humulus Lupulus (Hops) Extract Skin Care needs to stay pure from yeast and mould. That is why ingredients like Parabens etc are used by a lot of companies. These work great at achieving their aim, but a lot of our “customers”prefer products without parabens.  We worked for over a year to develop a preservation system based on Hops Extract. All our creams have now been checked for preservative efficacy using the British Pharmacopeia test. We are very proud that we are probably one of the first companies to develop this natural and edible anti-bacterial system into our creams.
